SENDING A MESSAGE: If you have information you would like to share with our subscribers, email Renee McCue at least 10 working days prior to the event start date or we may be unable to send it out. CRITERIA: The event or service must occur in West Hartford, be open to the public and be non-commercial. Your message should include who, what, when, where, why, how, cost, parking and contact information (email and phone). Please write your message as you want it read by the public.
Category Descriptions
Residential: Municipal service information including holiday trash delays, seasonal collections, snowstorm parking bans, tax relief programs, tax payment options, parks and recreation programs, the seasonal recreation catalog, election polling hours, and new on-line services. From time to time, you may be asked to participate in short surveys about your level of satisfaction with a particular town service such as trash collection.
Business: Business-oriented topics including chamber of commerce notices, personal property filings, business district special events such as West Hartford Center sale days and Park Road Business Association "Person of the Year" award.
Education: West Hartford Public Schools information including parent-teacher conferences, immunization schedules, special events, open houses, and the school calendar.
Community: Community-wide topics including annual parades, the Park Road Playhouse, West Hartford Summer Arts Festival, Noah Webster House events, community fundraisers, annual special events such as Celebrate! West Hartford, and Council Briefs, a biweekly one-page newsletter with the inside scoop on West Hartford.
Public Notices & Hearings: This category includes notice of items scheduled for public hearing by the Town Plan and Zoning Commission, Inland Wetland and Watercourses Agency, Zoning Board of Appeals and Town Council.
Meetings & Agendas: This category includes the meeting dates and agendas of West Hartford government agencies and boards and commissions including the Board of Education and Town Council, as well as announcements of public hearings.
